Training of the National Chamber of Physiotherapists

Training of the National Chamber of Physiotherapists

The National Chamber of Physiotherapists is organizing a series of free and certified FIZJO-LEARNING training sessions. One of the topics particularly close to EGZOTech is “Surface electromyography in physiotherapy practice.”

Surface electromyography is a modern muscle testing method that allows physiotherapists to accurately monitor and evaluate muscle function in patients. As part of the training, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the principles and practical aspects of using surface electromyography in their daily work.

The aim of the training is to improve the professional competence of physiotherapists in the field of physiotherapy for patients with infectious diseases, especially COVID-19, disease rehabilitation, and physioprophylaxis in neurophysiotherapy.

The training will be conducted in the form of practical workshops led by experienced specialists in the field of physiotherapy and surface electromyography. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about electrode selection, equipment calibration, conducting EMG tests, and interpreting results.

The training is aimed at both novice and experienced physiotherapists who want to expand their knowledge and skills in the field of surface electromyography. We encourage physiotherapists working in clinics and hospitals as well as private practices to participate in the training.

The training will take place in various cities in Poland, including Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk, Poznan, and Wroclaw. Training dates and registration information are available below or at www.fizja.pl

  • Neurophysiological basis of motor unit activation by the nervous system.
  • Possibilities and limitations of surface electromyography signal acquisition and processing.
  • Areas of surface electromyography application and evidence of effectiveness according to EBM.
  • Electrode positioning principles and proper placement on the patient’s body depending on the muscle being tested.
  • Methodological knowledge regarding sEMG assessment using tests.
  • Principles of sEMG test interpretation.
  • Principles of EMG biofeedback in the training of neurological and orthopedic patients (in selected diseases).
  • Methodological knowledge regarding surface EMG for triggering functional electrical stimulation of the upper limb in neurological patients.
  • Indications and contraindications for conducting therapy in the field of EMG biofeedback and sEMG-triggered EMS.
  • Negative medical and social consequences of COVID-19 illness or the risk of infection and their inclusion in testing and therapy.

We warmly invite all interested parties to participate in the FIZJO-LEARNING training on Surface Electromyography in Physiotherapy Practice. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge and gain new skills in the field of physiotherapy.
